Redwood Canopy Tours

Come learn about the redwood forest and experience it from a new perspective.

Join North Coast Adventure Centers for a Canopy Tour 70-120 feet up in the redwoods of Arcata's Redwood Park. You will start on the ground learning terms and techniques needed to safely maneuver through the canopy. After the training is completed the next challenge will be to ascend up into the redwoods and ride a series of ziplines through the canopy. Our trained guides will help you step out of your comfort zone and experience the beauty of the redwood canopy. Climbing, zipping, and rappelling through the trees will help you appreciate their power and beauty.

Please Note: Base pricing for canopy tours is $75 per person for 3 or more participants.  If less than 3 people sign up for a tour, an additional $10 will be charged per person the day of the program. Cancellations prior to 14 days of the tour will be refunded all moneys paid less a $20 handling fee per person. Cancellations between 3 and 14 days before the tour will forfeit their deposit (50%). Cancellations less than 3 days before the tour will forfeit the full price of the tour.

The Big Rappel & Rock Climbing

Rappel Climb on the North Coast's beautiful Boulders and Rocks

Join us for the Big Rappel and climb with North Coast Adventure Centers on the beach and along the bluffs of the North Coast- Humboldt at its best! Learn the basics of rappelling, climbing, and belaying. Whether you are bouldering or top-roping, our knowledgeable trainers will help you gain the experience and skill necessary for all your climbing journeys.

Our trips are great as a two person tour, for small groups, families, and individuals. Our 1/2 day rappelling and rock climbing program runs for about 3-4 hours. We'll teach you how to safely rappel, belay climbers and give you tips on basic climbing techniques up to 70 feet. If your arms are up for it, we will take you to some of our prime bouldering spots where you will learn how to safely traverse rock just 6-10 feet off the ground.

Getting To Know Your Camera

You don’t have to be a professional photographer to come home from your trip to the Redwoods with breathtaking pictures. Please bring all of your photographic equipment and your camera’s manual. There is no prior experience needed for this class, but you should be familiar with all of the basic functions of your equipment.

Intermediate Skills

One of the first things photographers notice when photographing the Redwoods is the challenge created by the extreme lighting among those giant trees. Explore the amazing natural beauty hiking in Redwood National Park and improve your photography skills at the same time! This tour includes a picnic lunch, as well as some time in a classroom setting. Educational materials will also be provided.
